Cookie policy
Last updated: September 2026
This Cookie Policy explains how Morning Glory Shop, trading as Morning Glory Coffee, uses cookies and similar technologies on https://morningglorycoffee.shop.
It sits alongside our Privacy Policy, which explains what we do with the personal data these technologies produce.
We use cookies in accordance with art. 11.7a of the Dutch Telecommunications Act (Telecommunicatiewet), the ePrivacy Directive 2002/58/EC and the GDPR.
1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. We also use similar technologies — local storage, session storage, pixels and tracking tags — and everything in this policy applies to those too.
Cookies may be:
-
First-party — set by us; or third-party — set by another company such as Shopify, Meta or Google.
-
Session — deleted when you close your browser; or persistent — kept for a set period.
2. Your choices, and when we ask
When you first visit, we show you a cookie banner.
-
Strictly necessary cookies are set without asking, because the shop cannot work without them and the law does not require consent for them.
-
Every other category — preferences, analytics and marketing — is switched off until you turn it on.Nothing is pre-ticked.
-
Rejecting is as easy as accepting. The banner gives "Accept all" and "Reject all" equal prominence, on the same screen, in the same style. You do not have to click through layers to say no.
-
Continuing to browse, scrolling, or closing the banner is not consent. We treat it as a refusal.
-
You can change your mind at any time, without penalty, through the Cookie settings link in our footer.
Refusing non-essential cookies does not stop you browsing or buying. Some conveniences — remembering your language, for example — may not work.
3. The cookies we use
Before publishing: run a scan of the live shop and confirm every row below. Durations are the providers' documented defaults; browsers override them (Safari caps script-set cookies at 7 days, Firefox and Brave are stricter still), and durations change when vendors update their tags. Re-scan after installing any new app.
Strictly necessary — always active, no consent required
Needed to run the shop: keeping your basket, logging you in, processing payment, security, and remembering your cookie choices.

For some advertising processing, we and the platform act as joint controllers under art. 26 GDPR. Their own privacy notices explain what they do with the data:
-
Meta — facebook.com/privacy/policy
-
Google — policies.google.com/privacy
-
TikTok — tiktok.com/legal/privacy-policy
-
Klaviyo — klaviyo.com/legal/privacy-notice
Embedded video
Some of our pages include brewing guides and other videos hosted on YouTube. We load these in two steps:
-
Until you choose to play a video, you see a still image and a play button only. Nothing is loaded from Google and no cookies are set.
-
When you click play, the video loads from youtube-nocookie.com, Google's privacy-enhanced mode, and Google sets the cookies listed above.
So a video only ever reaches Google if you decide to watch it. If you have declined marketing cookies, we will ask you to confirm before the video loads.
4. How long consent lasts
We ask again after [e.g. 6] months, or sooner if we add a new purpose or a new third party. You can change your settings at any time in the meantime.
5. Managing cookies in your browser
You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking strictly necessary cookies will stop the shop working properly — you will not be able to keep a basket or check out.
Instructions for the common browsers are on allaboutcookies.org, and in your browser's own help pages.
Some browsers offer a "Do Not Track" or Global Privacy Control signal. Where we are technically able to recognise a GPC signal, we treat it as a refusal of non-essential cookies.
6. Changes to this policy
We update this policy whenever our cookie use changes. The current version, with its date, is always on this page.
