Product safety

Last updated: September 2026

This page explains how we meet our obligations under the General Product Safety Regulation (EU) 2023/988 (GPSR), which has applied since 13 December 2024, and how to reach us if you have a safety concern about anything you bought from us.

It covers our non-food products — brewing equipment, drippers, ceramics, filters, scales, kettles and similar accessories. Food safety for our coffee is covered on our Food Information & Allergens page.

Our commitment

We only sell products we believe to be safe when used as intended or in a way that can reasonably be foreseen. Before we list a non-food product we check that:

  • it has an identifiable manufacturer or an EU responsible person;
  • the required safety information, warnings and instructions are supplied with it, in Dutch and English;
  • it carries the marks and identifiers required for its product type; and
  • it is not subject to a known recall or safety notice.

What you will find on every product page

For each non-food product, our product pages show the information required by art. 19 GPSR before you buy:

  • the manufacturer's name, registered trade name or trade mark, and their postal and email address;
  • where the manufacturer is established outside the EU, the name and contact details of the responsible person in the EU (art. 16 GPSR);
  • information identifying the product, including a picture, type, batch or serial number where applicable; and
  • any warnings or safety information that must be supplied with the product, in Dutch and English.

If any of this is missing from a listing, please tell us at support@morningglorycoffee.shop and we will correct it.

Report a safety problem

If a product you bought from us has caused an accident or injury, or you believe it is unsafe, tell us straight away.

Email support@morningglorycoffee.shop with:

  • the product name and your order number;
  • what happened, and when;
  • photos of the product and of any damage, if you can take them safely; and
  • the batch or serial number, if the product has one.

Please stop using the product until we have responded.

We will acknowledge your report within [e.g. 2] business days. Where a product turns out to be unsafe, we will inform the manufacturer and, where the law requires, notify the Nederlandse Voedsel- en Warenautoriteit (NVWA) through the EU Safety Business Gateway.

You may also report a dangerous product directly to the NVWA at nvwa.nl, or check EU-wide alerts on the Commission's Safety Gate portal at ec.europa.eu/safety-gate.

Satisfaction guarantee

If we discover that a product we sold is unsafe, we will:

  1. Stop selling it immediately and remove the listing;
  2. Contact affected customers directly by email, using the order records we hold, and publish a notice on this page and on our homepage;
  3. Tell you clearly what the hazard is, what to do, and what remedy you are entitled to; and
  4. Offer you, at your choice, a repair, a replacement, or a refund — free of charge, including the cost of returning the product, as required by art. 37 GPSR.

We will do this even if you bought the product a long time ago, and regardless of your right of withdrawal or the legal guarantee. A recall remedy is in addition to your other rights, not instead of them.

This is one of the reasons we keep order records — see the retention table in our Privacy Policy.

Current safety notices

There are no active safety notices or recalls for products sold by Morning Glory Coffee.

(Any active notice will be published here, dated, and emailed to affected customers.)

Using our products safely

Some general points for the equipment we sell:

  • Hot water and steam. Pour-over drippers, servers and kettles are used with water near boiling point. Keep them away from children and place them on a stable, heat-resistant surface.
  • Glass and ceramics. Do not subject glass or ceramic items to sudden temperature changes — do not pour boiling water into a cold vessel, or place a hot one on a cold surface. Do not use a chipped or cracked item.
  • Dishwashers and microwaves. Only clean or heat an item this way if the manufacturer's instructions say you may. Where they do not, hand-wash.
  • Electrical items. Follow the manufacturer's instructions. Do not immerse an electrical appliance in water, and do not use it with a damaged cable or plug.

Always read and keep the manufacturer's instructions supplied with the product; they take precedence over this general guidance.

If a product is faulty

A safety concern and a faulty product are different things, though they can overlap. If your product simply does not work as it should, this is a conformity matter — see section 9 of our Terms of Service and section 6 of our Return & Refund Policy. Either way, start by emailing us.
